Smart lockers are now vital for e-commerce, logistics, and retail sectors, offering safe and convenient delivery solutions. The global Smart Locker Market Size was valued at USD 2.1 billion in 2023, projected to reach USD 3.6 billion by 2028, with a CAGR of 11.6%.
Challenge
Luxer One, the parent company of Harbor Lockers, was established to solve the challenge of delivering packages efficiently and securely to apartment buildings. Leveraging expertise in software, hardware, logistics, and property management, Luxer One developed a smart locker system to simplify package delivery for residents, carriers, and property managers.
However, to adopt Luxer One's smart lockers, an e-commerce, retail, or logistics brand previously encountered a significant initial investment hurdle. This included the expense of constructing customised lockers, distributing them, and developing specialised software to leverage the smart locker capabilities. Consequently, many potential brands refrained from pursuing the solution, despite their interest.
Solution
In response to this challenge, Luxer One's subsidiary, Harbor Lockers, is pioneering innovative solutions. Their primary objective is to facilitate the onboarding process for brands by offering a low-cost pilot phase before committing to a full-fledged solution.
Here are ways in which we are partnering with Harbor Lockers:
White-Labelled Solution Development: We have developed a generic, white-labelled solution that operates seamlessly on top of Harbor Public Lockers. This solution, customizable for different brands within a week, provides a cost-effective and efficient way for brands to pilot the Luxer One smart locker system.
- Configurable Figma Board: Recognizing the need for quick and easy prototyping, we have built a configurable Figma board that allows brands to experience the solution as a click-through prototype in just 2-3 hours. This tool enables brands to visualise and interact with the solution before committing to further development.
- Specialized Systems for Brands: In addition to the generic solution, we have developed specialised systems tailored to the unique requirements of specific brands. Notable examples include:
- UPS Solution: For the renowned delivery giant UPS, we created a comprehensive C2B solution. This involved designing and developing an admin panel, a customer app, and a driver app, as well as implementing an App Clip to streamline the drop-off process.
- Rentify Solution: We designed and developed a P2P renting solution for Rentify, leveraging the capabilities of Harbor Lockers. This involved creating a mobile app with features such as inventory browsing, item listing, location-based locker search, and a deeply integrated feedback/review system.
