1Smart and nice people, beautiful office. Can't ask for more.
1I can back up other commenters concerning fake scam job placement opportunities placed through platforms like LinkedIn using this company's real contact information while pretending to be real executives working for Remerge. I tried to reach out to Remerge directly after the interviewer contact impersonating "Mr. Damon Sakai" attempted to gain access to my Google account in order to gain some insight on what was going on. No one responded to me about this. I am in the process of filing a police report and called the Security Fraud Hotline concerning the theft of my SSN. Be incredibly careful with any seemingly legitimate job opportunities with this company. It's concerning to me that more oversight isn't being done to protect potential employees against scams using these Remerge executives real identities, photos and likenesses.
0Dear Alexandra, Thank you for flagging this issue here and raising awareness of this concerning illegal activity. We already had received a few similar complaints and consequently informed the US authorities in July, including the FBI. The matter is currently under investigation. We are also actively reporting fake job postings on LinkedIn. We would strongly advise any potential victim to directly report such activities to the respective authorities themselves, too. We want to help protect potential job candidates against scams, and would encourage everyone to reach out to us through our website (https://www.remerge.io/get-in-touch) in case of any concern. Unfortunately, we were unable to track down your inquiry, would you mind letting us know how you contacted us so we can investigate why it didn’t reach us? Additionally, we would appreciate if you could send us further information about the impersonator, such as email handles, LinkedIn URLs or messenger IDs, so that we can also forward that to the authorities ourselves. For everyone reading this post, please be careful when you encounter similar situations, assess whether the roles, recruitment process, interviews, email accounts, domains, and documents seem legitimate. Applying for roles directly through our website is always the safest option and if you have any doubts, you can always reach us through our website (https://www.remerge.io/get-in-touch). Best regards, Remerge HR Team
BE WEARY OF INTERVIEWING FOR REMOTE POSITIONS! There are a team of people pretending to be others that actually work for the company, albeit it is not them, and it is not legit. Especially for the Data Entry Specialist position, as the real Remerge does not even offer such a position. They send you an offer letter and a W-4 after 2-3 days of interviewing, which makes it seem even more real, however they just end up with all of your personal information(social security, ID, address, etc.) instead. Then they want to send a check via email for the “equipment they want to set you up with,” have you print out the check and upload it through your mobile banking app. They become pushy about the check, call repeatedly back to back, and once I called my fake interviewer out, he signed off immediately and blocked me. The real Remerge also does not conduct any interviews through Skype. Be careful as to not let them steal your identity or overdraft/access your account.
2Dear Ashley, thank you for flagging this here and warning others of this illegal activity. We forwarded the information you provided to us by email to the relevant US authorities, including the FBI and we hope that they will be able to put a stop to this. For any others reading this, please be careful when you encounter similar situations and assess whether the roles, recruitment process, interviews, email accounts and domains, documents etc. seem legitimate. Applying for roles directly through our website is always the safest option and in case of doubt, you can also contact us through our website. Best regards, Remerge HR Team
