The creation of a structured communication concept, the development of a uniform corporate design including the design of the new logo of the municipality of Schwalmtal and a design manual as a central information tool about the visual profile of the municipality of Schwalmtal and the use of its design elements.
One of the first steps was a large-scale, anonymous citizen survey, which provided information on what residents think about their community, how it is perceived, what potential for expansion there is, which topics are important to the population and much more. The results have been instrumental in guiding and supporting us in our further work.
For a municipality, its visual appearance is an expression of its character and style. The corporate design is therefore the "visualized identity". It also plays a key role in determining the impression that the municipality makes on employees and the public. Consistency and uniformity in the interests of community identity are therefore essential. We have therefore created a memorable word and figurative mark for the municipality of Schwalmtal, from which the logo is composed. This serves as the basis for the design of a variety of applications, e.g. on the web or in printed matter, and thus ensures a high level of recognition.
The figurative mark consists of the shapes of the three typical Schwalmtal landmarks as objects of identification and popular figures: the Waldniel town hall, the Amern mill tower and the Mühlrath mill. These were simplified and abstracted to their unchanging features. Harmoniously arranged in their strikingly reduced form, which is rounded off at the lower edge by the eponymous Schwalm the figurative mark as a wave shape.
Since life in Schwalmtal is colorful, friendly, varied, exciting and cheerful, we have chosen colors that express exactly this. First and foremost the color blue, which can also be found in the Schwalmtal coat of arms.
The word mark "My Schwalmtal" also expresses everything that the municipality of Schwalmtal embodies, where the focus is on the common good of all citizens. The new claim "Diverse like me" supports this focus and underlines that Schwalmtal is a "colorful", open, flexible and citizen-oriented municipality.
