A European marketing agency specializing in developing content and communication strategies for companies across various sectors, such as fintech and IT, approached Silk Data to integrate a local AI chatbot aimed at optimizing workflow and enhancing team collaboration. The primary requirement was to create a solution based on a Large Language Model (LLM) that would be fully deployed on the client's internal infrastructure, ensuring maximum data security. Silk Data proposed a self-hosted LLM solution that not only addressed the client's security concerns but also provided a cost-effective, high-performance setup by transitioning to a more efficient server infrastructure. This allowed the agency to maintain full control over its data while benefiting from the advanced capabilities of AI-driven automation. Silk Data successfully selected the optimal solution for installing open source AI on the company's own servers, taking into account the analysis of the company's internal processes and data. The quality of the solution provided corresponded to full data security, which indicates the reliability of the solution. Recognizing the transformative potential of AI, the client was in search of a self-hosted AI chatbot to streamline the workflow and collaboration of their marketing teams. The main challenge was to develop a chatbot embedded with a personal LLM (Large Language Model) that could be hosted on the client's internal infrastructure. The solution needed to prioritize the security of internal information, ensuring that data remained within the company’s private network. Having successfully collaborated on the development of an internal marketing automation platform, the client was eager to leverage our proven expertise once again. To address these challenges, Silk Data assembled a dedicated team of six AI experts. The initial development phase for the LLM chatbot demo version spanned 22 business days. The team opted for Mistral, an open-source LLM, as the foundation for their solution. The initial attempt to run an on prem LLM on an Azure server was found to be too expensive for the client, needing a more cost-effective solution without compromising performance. After analyzing diverse options, the team decided to transition private LLM model to Hetzner server, which provided an optimal balance of cost and performance. This setup allowed the self-hosted LLM to run efficiently with a distribution of 70% on GPU and 30% on CPU, significantly reducing expenses while keeping high performance.

LLM Installation - The team deployed the Mistral LLM on the Hetzner server, ensuring compatibility with the chosen hardware configuration.
Architecture Development - The team built the user interface (frontend) for the chatbot and the backend system responsible for communicating with the private LLM.

We carefully discuss and formalize payment terms in the contract after assessing the project and agreeing on the team, in order to avoid misunderstandings and disputes in the future. After discussing all the details of the project, Silk Data analysts calculate the approximate budget and project timeframe. For the convenience of our clients, we offer several payment options:
Fixed price: we determine a portion of the risk based on unknown factors (usually 30% of the main development cost).
For small projects (10-15 thousand) prepayment is not required, but for large projects prepayment is required.
Hourly rate: Developers are paid for each hour worked.
For Time and Materials projects: We provide weekly detailed reports of time spent (along with invoice). This can be a monthly payment or payment in separate stages.
Equity Share: In some cases, Silk Data may agree to have an equity interest in the client's business, receiving a share of profits or an equity stake in the company in lieu of payment for services.
Hybrid models: In some cases, we offer a combination of several of the above payment forms for more flexible project management.
For product: We charge a monthly license and support fee. If the customer requires customization, additional features or integrations will incur a fee.
