Meek-a-moo - a language-focused educational game for toddlers
Publishing house "AZ Books LLC" was aiming to expand its interactive books with a branded mobile application for the Book Expo America 2012 exhibition. SoftTeco prepared a demo version of the app first, after that, it continued further with developing the entire product.
The client asked SoftTeco to develop an interactive educational game for children of 4+ years old. The game had to be highly enjoyable and colorful and bring value in terms of education. The product also had to have a highly responsive design as it was intended.
The application “Meek-a-Moo” is developed for children from 3 to 6 years, and has an intuitive and friendly interface. Cocos2d game engine used for converting Flash to iOS significantly saves time and development efforts. The app features an interactive map with four game zones: house, farm, lake, and zoo, along with two modes, Learn and Play. The app also includes approximately 50 animals, each with its own unique animation and sound. In Learn mode, users can develop their visual, auditory, and associative memory by learning the name and image of each animal in 2 languages (English and Russian). In Play mode, users can recognize the animals based on the sounds they make.
SoftTeco successfully designed and developed an interactive and educational game for iOS that fully met the set requirements. The application was delivered within the agreed timeline and budget.
